Presenting the NEAM-COMMITMENT EU project at the EGU General Assembly 2025 in Vienna was an excellent opportunity to showcase innovative tsunami risk management strategies for the NEAM region. Closely tied to the IOC/UNESCO Tsunami Ready Recognition Programme, the project highlights global efforts to enhance tsunami preparedness and evacuation planning.

At the EGU General Assembly 2025, experts from civil protection, seismology, and tsunami risk management gathered to discuss evacuation planning and hazard assessment. EGU is a global leading platform for geoscientists that fosters dialogue and collaboration among Earth, planetary, and space sciences. Attended by over 20,000 attendees, it provides a platform for highlighting cutting-edge research and sharing interdisciplinary concepts.
