South-East Europe | Recent heatwaves
This ECHO Daily Map (dated 26 July, 2024) provides detailed insights into the recent heatwave conditions affecting South-East Europe. It was created by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) at the request of the ERCC.
Southern Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Türkiye, Cyprus, and parts of southern Italy have experienced intense, record-breaking heatwaves lasting over two weeks.
The ECHO Daily Map includes three maps: the first illustrates the duration of the heatwaves in days, the second shows the maximum intensity of the heatwaves, and the third depicts the average daily maximum temperature anomaly in the affected areas.
