PFA capacity building for Red Cross Staff and Volunteers
The aim of the course was PFA capacity building for Red Cross Staff and Volunteers.
The participants were from five different branches of the ARC, they were mainly Austrian Red Cross First Aid Trainers and EMT“s/Paramedics.
The aim of the training was to train trainers who then can serve as multiplicators and do trainings with volunteers and staff in their regional branches focusing on the topics PFA including dealing with aggression/violence.
The two very experienced trainers did the course in a team teaching format. Central topics were presented by the trainers but most of the course was interactive.
Participants had to do a teaching test where they presented parts of the training manual to the group and were evaluated afterwards. The group climate was very warm and respectful which led to interesting and fruitful discussions and group work. At the end of the course participants were highly satisfied with the training.
