
Wildfires: rescEU fire fighting fleet in 2023
The daily map provides an overview of the new rescEU fire fighting fleet and capacities in 2023.
This new daily map provides an overview of all new rescEU capacities (planes and helicopters) and hosting countries in charge of the rescEU fleet. The rescEU capacities has increased from 13 to 20 since 2022.
The rescEU firefighting reserve fleet would include 24 airplanes and 4 helicopters from 10 Member States. By 2025, further expansion will take place through an accelerated procurement of airplanes and helicopters.
This investment comes to to reinforce the fleet and to tackle the intensity of forest fires throughout Europe.
