Responsibilities of the Supreme Aviation Council

The Supreme Aviation Council deals with any matter provided for by the applicable legislation. In particular, it shall take decisions or give its opinion in accordance with the provisions in force on the following:

  • Organization and structuring of the Branch of the Air Force, in accordance with the distribution of personnel and material, and based on the principles of the current law.
  • Doctrine of Operations of the Forces of the Air Force Branch and provision of general guidelines for war plans, battle layout plans, training, mobilization, support and security.
  • Discipline and Internal Management.
  • Programs of equipment, manning of structures and support facilities based on their operational necessity and feasibility.
  • Draft budget and program of the public investments of the relevant Sector, before the expression of an opinion by the Chief of Defence Staff, in accordance with paragraph 8l of article 11 and their approval by the Minister of National Defence, after examination in the Defence Council.
  • Distribution of appropriations finally allocated to the Sector.
  • Placements, promotions, demobilizations and complaints of officers for unfavorable judgment, as defined by the special law.
  • Recall to the action of permanent reserve officers and their dismissal.
  • Proposals for the award of moral rewards.
  • Draft laws, regulatory decrees and regulations concerning the Branch of the Air Force.
