Description

The Heritage Factory in Normandy is a Public Institution of Cultural Cooperation, created on January 1, 2015. This EPCC benefits from the experience acquired in nearly thirty years by three regional institutions* specialized in cultural heritage and whose activities it has taken over.

At the service of the regional territory, its inhabitants and their institutions, the establishment is organized around three poles whose key words are "know, preserve, transmit and share":

  1. As LABO, conservation, restoration & scientific imaging pole with the provision to heritage institutions of a workshop for the conservation-restoration of heritage properties and the contribution of expertise and the deployment of technical means to develop the management of the preservation of collections and improve the conservation of cultural property.
  2. As Ethnopole, a mission of knowledge, enhancement and transmission of ethnological and intangible heritage through which it contributes, among other things, to questioning the identities and representations of territories, organizations and professions. It also participates in the constitution and dissemination of a significant audiovisual memory of the major changes and events that have marked the region for nearly a century. These actions support locally driven dynamics or aim to develop new cultural, social or economic fields.
  3. A mission of coordination, pooling and support with the animation of the Network of Museums of Normandy, an organization that brings together 100 heritage institutions engaged in cultural cooperation and in important pooling programs to facilitate the sharing and dissemination of data relating to collections.
