Description
SUSTENTO is the only umbrella organization in Latvia that unites 55 organizations of people with disabilities, thus forming a direct representation of more than 50,000 people with disabilities and/or chronic diseases. In 2002, the organization was founded in order for as many associations as possible to unite and strive to achieve compliance with the rights and needs of people with disabilities in our country.
SUSTENTO is the only organization that represents the non-governmental sector of Latvia in disability policy in the European Union, promoting respect for human rights in accordance with international law.
