Description
The Maritime Rescue and Safety Society, Salvamento Marítimo, is a Public Business Entity attached to the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, through the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy. Created in 1992 by the Law of State Ports and the Merchant Navy, it began operating in 1993 and its purpose is the protection of life at sea in the area of responsibility of Spanish rescue.
