The main mission of INGV is the monitoring of geophysical phenomena. INGV is entrusted with monitoring the seismicity of the entire national territory and the activity of the Italian volcanoes through a network of technologically advanced instrumentation, distributed in the national territory or concentrated into the active volcanoes.
