Description

After an earthquake, the maximum survival of victims is only about 3 days. In other accidents, for example avalanches,
even a few minutes or hours.

For such disaster scenarios, we developed a rescue drone in a BMBF funding project at the OTH Regensburg, which can locate buried survivors under up to 6 meters of rubble.
This is done using a bio-radar that detects the breathing and heartbeat of the victims.
Our flight robot is also able to quickly search large areas and reach places that are not accessible to human helpers.

In order to be usable under these conditions, the system must be able to land on uneven ground, have a flight time of one hour, or under adverse conditions Weather conditions can be used, can perform his tasks automatically and, above all, be absolutely fail-safe thanks to redundant systems.

This makes the flight robot a safe and reliable tool for the emergency services. The ScaraBot flying robot is developed by a team of scientists from the sensor application center and experienced industrial engineers. In order to make our flight robot available for a broad, general application, we founded ScaraBot Technologies GmbH together.

With its properties, the Scarabot flight robot is, in addition to disaster protection, also perfectly suitable for fire brigades, THW and authorities, for example for operational overview,
Investigation or missing person search, in the surveying for land and building surveying and in industrial use, for example for partially or fully automatic inspections.

Our systems can use a wide variety of sensors and make their data streams available in real time for evaluation. The Scarabot flying robot will save lives in disaster areas. Our work makes sense for this, but also for many other applications.
