The French Society of Disaster Medicine (SFMC) was founded in 1983. The SFMC proposed to bring together actors in the field, teachers, administrative managers within a learned society where experiences and know-how, research and technical acquisitions could be exchanged, in a multi-professional spirit, without taking into account their membership in the medical world of health, the interior, defense, teaching, diplomacy or associations.
