The experts helping us stay One Step Ahead of climate disasters
Campaign from ECHO share the stories of some of the civil protection and disaster risk management experts from across Europe helping to prepare for and tackle climate disasters.

Civil protection and disaster risk management experts from across Europe featured in ECHO’s latest communication campaign ‘Together, One Step Ahead of Climate Disasters’.
Using as case studies wildfires in both Portugal and in Slovenia, floods in Pakistan and tropical storms in Madagascar, #TogetherOneStepAhead shows how expertise in research, prevention and preparedness directly assists response practitioners on the ground. Experts behind the scenes share their work, while their counterparts on the ground - or in the air - shine the spotlight on how this essential knowledge-sharing is helping them to do their job faster, safer and more effectively.
The campaign ran through social media in Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, the Netherlands and Portugal, all countries that have experienced natural disasters, sent their experts to help or have received assistance from the Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
