Description

The alarm exercise (AlarmEX) will be conducted as a part of Arctic REIHN and build on the overall exercise scenario. AlarmEX is a test of notification and early warning channels where the respective Contact Points (CPs) and Competent Authorities (CAs) send out early warnings of the event as well as request assistance through relevant international channels. On the European level, the exercise shall involve three notification systems: ECURIE, SafeSeaNet and CECIS. IAEA USIE shall also be utilized.  

The objective is effective and timely notification and information exchange of a nuclear emergency according to national and international agreements and conventions. 

To achieve these aims the notification part of the exercise will include correct notification measures nationally and internationally including mobilization of international support.  The objective is to ensure that the point of contact will receive the notification and request for assistance that they will act upon according to the procedures for the different agreements.
