Description

The meeting on 25 March, kindly hosted by KIK-IRPA, the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage of Belgium, will bring together experts from the PROCULTHER-NET consortium partners (1), representatives of EU institutions, national civil protection authorities, cultural heritage specialists from the Union Civil Protection Mechanism participating states, and international organisations such as UNESCO and UNDRR.

The conference will mark the conclusion of two years of collaborative work aimed at strengthening the integration of cultural heritage protection within the Mechanism. It will provide an opportunity to present the project’s main achievements, share lessons learned, and discuss future perspectives for enhancing preparedness and response capacities at both European and international levels.

Participants will also be introduced to PROCULTHER-4ALL, the forthcoming initiative designed to support the implementation of the EU Preparedness Union Strategy in the field of cultural heritage protection. Running from April 2026 to March 2028, PROCULTHER-4ALL will provide practical tools and approaches to strengthen preparedness while promoting inclusive and resilient social participation. By doing so, it will contribute to making European communities more robust and sustainable in the face of risks and crises.
