This paper looks back at the projects undertaken during 2024, a year that marks an important milestone in the protection of cultural heritage with the 70th anniversary of the 1954 Hague Convention. This event offers a unique opportunity to look back at recent initiatives put in place by various cultural heritage protection actors, both military and civilian, to strengthen the safeguarding of cultural heritage in times of conflict. From the beginnings of a French national advisory committee, in line with the prerequisites of the 1954 Hague Convention, to the conduct of an expert mission by the French armed forces in Beirut, in support of and alongside Lebanese Armed Forces, or with the conduct of Blue Shield France exercises in Armenia, the aim of this article is to highlight the interoperability currently underway in France.

With a view to raising awareness, the article shares the progress made, the continuing challenges and the innovative projects deployed throughout the year to update and revitalise the founding principles of the Convention.
