Description

This document provides the complete Warning Message Library elaborated by the team at the Socio-Economic Observatory of Floods and Droughts (OBSIS) at the University of Alicante. It is based on the methodology described in the paper Ortiz, G., Aznar-Crespo, P., & Aledo, A. (2024). Developing and pilot-testing warning messages for risk communication in natural disasters. Environment Systems and Decisions, 44(2), 239-258.

It consists of 98 sample messages corresponding to a diversity of needs along the main stages of the flood disaster. It has been developed based on the content analysis of the more than 4000 calls received by the 112 line during one of the severest flood events suffered by the Valencian Region (2019). Language: Spanish.
