The project is the result of a strategic partnership of Italian and French end-users: the Fire Brigade (CNVVF), the Fire and Rescue Department of Haute-Savoie (SDIS73) as well as the International CBRN Institute (ICI), based in Belgium and specialised in NBCR-E (Nuclear, Bacteriological, Chemical, Radiological and/or Explosive), which includes experts in the military and civil sectors.
During these days, it was possible to evaluate and test the first project results after the first year of work.
In particular, the functionality of the Virtual Operations Room between Italy and France (S.O.F.I.A.) and the operational guidelines for the NBCR area with the first shared forms were tested and evaluated by an evaluation unit.
The project aims to strengthen long-term cooperation at the French-Italian border within the framework of already existing protocols of cross-border cooperation with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of information flow to reduce intervention times and improve coordination during NBCR interventions and to contribute to strengthening mutual cooperation for border interventions in other areas as well with a Virtual Operations Room that can be a model for other countries interested in its use.
The results of the testing will therefore allow the continued development of the NBCR operational guidelines and related forms and S.O.F.I.A., which will be tested again in October 2024.

The main objectives of 1st Testing :
1) testing the 1st version of S.O.F.I.A. software;
2) testing the Operating Guidelines and already drafted forms in their 1st draft.
