Economics of Disaster Prevention and Preparedness: New eLearning training!

By Knowledge Network – Staff memberPublished on

Together with the World Bank, the European Commission recently published three analytical reports on prioritising investments in disaster and climate resilience, costing climate change adaptation, and advancing financial resilience.

The study for the reports covered multiple hazards, including floods, wildfires, earthquakes, and landslides, with a focus on critical infrastructure and emergency response systems.

Based on the findings of the study and reports, two online training courses are now available on the EU Academy, the European Commission’s eLearning platform.

The courses convey knowledge about how to plan and scale up smart and focused investments for disaster and climate resilience to safeguard communities and ensure a sustainable future. The objective is to provide learners with an improved understanding of how to prioritise prevention and preparedness investments, in various sectors, at different administrative levels, and/or for specific natural hazards.
