Garachico, Tenerife — Day 4 of the European Union Civil Protection exercise marked a pivotal moment in Garachico, as national and local partners conducted a full-scale street evacuation and drill in the historic old pier neighborhood. The exercise aimed to test emergency protocols, community responsiveness, and inter-agency coordination under simulated crisis conditions.
The drill was observed by members of the EU Civil Protection teams, who visited both the Advanced Command Post (PMA) and the Municipal Coordination Center (CECOPAL) to assess operational readiness and strategic coordination.
The exercise continues to support Garachico’s efforts in enhancing disaster risk reduction and civil protection capabilities, with further activities planned throughout Saturday.
