Field exercises for EUCPT and TAST "Cycle 12"

These EU MODEX exercises are the functional exercises with a strong link to the reality that a EUCPT and TAST can be exposed to, both on operational, tactical and strategic levels. They are the perfect opportunity for the experts to be challenged with the close to reality situation in the response phase of the emergency.
For the outside of Europe scenario an UNDAC expert will be also present.

Description

The exercises are based on an advisory/scoping mission scenario. Each exercise will simulate a different type of scenario and replicate a real deployment: the volcanic eruption in La Palma, Spain in 2021 and the wildfires in southwest Ireland the same year. The former disaster will be used for an outside EU mission base scenario, while the latter will serve as a base scenario for an inside EU mission.

Each exercise lasts 6 days and covers all phases of a deployment including a refresher training and feedback sessions.

Building on lessons learned from real deployments, previous exercises and the training programme, the Lot 4 EU MODEX exercises will be developed to better prepare EUCPT and TAST for missions.
