The highly anticipated Environmental Analytics Seminar took place from May 10-12, 2023 as part of the FORMATEX23 project. The event kicked off with exciting presentations and discussions focusing on environmental hazards in different ecosystems and the UN Flash Environmental Assessment Tool (FEAT).
After the conference session, participants prepared for hands-on sampling and analysis exercises. Using measurement equipment, they worked with soil, water and air samples under real field conditions, thus gaining valuable hands-on experience.
The seminar continued with a tour of the Water Cluster, a non-profit research center dedicated to studying aquatic ecosystems at every scale.
The FORMATEX23 project aims to address prevention, preparedness, response and recovery from technological disasters triggered by natural hazards. The seminar focused on the specialized topic of field analytics and environmental assessment and provided participants with valuable insights and practical experience. In addition, attendees participated in group activities that examined the state of the art in sampling, sample preparation and analytical methods. Intense discussions were held in groups to jointly develop strategies and improve environmental analysis.
