Technical Visit to Gebze Güzeller OIZ by the RESMAR Project Team

Fieldwork continues within the scope of the "Making Industrial Organizations Resilient to Disasters with a Business Continuity Management Approach (RESMAR)" Project, co-financed by the European Union and AFAD. The RESMAR Project team conducted a technical visit to the Gebze Güzeller Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) to increase the resilience of the industrial infrastructure in the Marmara Region against disasters.

During the meeting held as part of the visit, planning processes aimed at protecting production and service capacity in industrial facilities under all conditions were discussed. Following the opening speeches by Mehmet Emin KOÇAN, Kocaeli Provincial Director of Disaster and Emergency Management, and Tufan SAAT, Regional Manager of Güzeller OIZ, Mehmet Fatih ŞEN, Head of the Technological Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group, provided information about the activities carried out within the RESMAR project. In his presentation to the participants, Business Continuity Expert Şükrü Yasin Güven shared comprehensive information on the methodology for preparing Business Continuity Analysis documents and creating plans based on international standards.

In the workshop and field tour that followed, project experts Şükrü Yasin Güven, Emin Yahya Menteşe, and Kadir Tomas detailed the technical processes for ensuring the operational continuity of industrial organizations during potential crises and disasters. Within the framework of the RESMAR Project, fieldwork will continue to ensure that industrial organizations are prepared for disasters and that business continuity is made sustainable.
