Biography

Andrea Toreti is a senior scientist at the European Commission, Joint Research Centre. He is the coordinator of the European and global drought observatory of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service. Andrea graduated in Mathematics at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’ (Italy) and got a PhD in Climate Sciences at the University of Bern (Switzerland). His research focuses on climate extremes; climate variability; climate change including impacts and adaptation.
