Description

R-Plan is a two-year initiative aiming to establish sustainable cross-border cooperation agreements between civil protection actors in Slovakia and Czechia, encourage networking among relevant stakeholders via expert meetings and training events, and drive the development of new tools to implement a methodology for synchronised cross-border risk assessment.

The initiative was created by two partners actively engaged in the analytical, methodological, and operational civil protection mechanisms of the partner countries.

While emergency response cooperation is already established, cross-border cooperation in terms of prevention needs to be enhanced through the introduction of risk assessment measures. Encouraging networking between civil protection actors in six different Slovak and Czech regions to implement advanced approaches to risk assessment is therefore the primary goal of the R-Plan project.

The project directly impacts the rescue and first response teams, civil protection officers, firefighters, volunteer protection and climate change NGOs, and science and research centres in the relevant cross-border regions
