
PROMPT External Kick-off Meeting Day2 of Day2
The objective was to launch the PROMPT project to the public formally thereby enhancing its visibility, and interact with invited stakeholders.
The kick-off meeting PROMPT project was successfully held at Palazzo San Giorgio, Genova, on the date 30th May 2023. The meeting was attended by partners and the project’s relevant stakeholders. The objective of the meeting was to formally launch the PROMPT project by presenting the project and the activities done so far by partners to the general public and relevant stakeholders. The event ended with a round table open discussion with the invited relevant stakeholders.
The project coordinator- Prof. Giovanni Besio gave an explicit presentation about the entire concept of the project. The presentation covered the program (UCPM) of the project and its priority topic with an emphasis on the relevance of the project including a graphical presentation to enhance understanding. The presentation showcased the connection between BE-READY's past project and the current PROMPT project together with their impact on the project's intervention sites namely: Tripoli (Lebanon), Aqaba (Jordan), and Genova (Italy). And finally, the presentation highlighted explicitly the technical activities and related tasks to partners backed by graphical demonstration. At this juncture, a Q & A session was introduced and participants were asking questions on related technical activities with tasks and responsibilities.
A session was reserved for partners of the project namely: ERI, OEPT, JU-A, WASDI, FIHAC, and PMTEN to introduce their organization and present their roles and responsibilities together with activities done so far in the PROMPT project. 20 mins time was dedicated for each partner to deliver their presentation and they delved on all the work packages respectively. All the partners successfully presented their organization and gave a clear view of their roles in the PROMPT project and their activities done so far and to be done.
At this juncture, a round-table open discussion with invited stakeholders was held. The objective of this session was to avail the opportunity to introduce invited stakeholders and interact with them in order to create a long-lasting network. ERI coordinated this session on behalf of the consortium, and ERI recognized the presence of invited stakeholders namely; ARPAL Liguria, Coast Guard, RINA, Fondazione MareVivo, etc.. The stakeholders were invited to introduce themselves, their organization, their needs & expectations of PROMPT, and additional questions regarding PROMPT. This session gave the opportunity to closely interact with stakeholders and exchange relevant ideas on PROMPT and related fields. It was also a stepping stone for future collaboration with stakeholders on capitalizing the project results, outcome, and impact. The project’s activities and results will be disseminated to stakeholders within the project’s lifespan.
In order to enhance wide visibility for the activities of the event, various media were invited to disseminate the event. Media such as TgR Liguria, Genova 24, La Voce di Genova, BizJournal, and Liguria24 were invited to televise and publish the event. Moreover, the visibility materials such as bags, notepads, flyers, rollers, and bottles prepared in respect of the event were distributed to all participants to contribute to the project's visibility. The meeting ended with a closing remark from the project coordinator - Prof. Giovanni Besio and group photos were taken and then we had a light lunch with all participants.
