The third edition of the SICC Series - CBRNe Conference 2023 took place from 25th to 29th September 2023, at the National Fire Academy – Istituto Superiore Antincendi in Rome (Italy). The conference hosted 3 plenary sessions, 12 technical sessions, 2 poster sessions and the industrial exhibition. There were 620 participants. OVERC.O.M.E. was presented in the poster session on 27th September.
The SICC aims to spread knowledge and education on CBRNe materials and events and to transform this field into an academic discipline, as well as to create a synergetic international community of experts and to promote multidisciplinary scientific research on safety and security in this context.
The conference was attended by numerous Italian and international governmental, academic and scientific institutions, companies and organisations working in the field of prevention, protection and response to CBRNe events.
The conference also included tabletop exercises, in which participants took part in realistic scenarios of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear events.
The SICC was distinguished by the possibility for interested participants to submit their poster abstracts, as is done for the OVERC.O.M.E Project, which were previously submitted to the conference organising committee, where professionals and researchers in the field could learn about the project's aim and purpose.
