The 9th European Civil Protection Forum will take place on 3–4 November 2026 in Brussels (Tour & Taxis), bringing together stakeholders from across the disaster risk management community to shape the future of preparedness in Europe. The call for exhibitors for the upcoming edition is now open!

The gap between research and practice in disaster risk management is well documented. At the International Conference on Resilient Systems (ICRS 2026), held on 23–24 March at the Technical University of Delft, over 100 researchers from across Europe presented work on resilience, disaster risk management, and emergency response.

A four-day knowledge exchange was held in Bucharest between 24-27 March 2026, bringing together over 100 practitioners and experts from across Europe and Asia to share lessons on disaster recovery, emergency preparedness and response.

Each year, EGU26 welcomes over 19,000 scientists to present cutting-edge research across 22 scientific divisions including disaster risk management. To promote knowledge exchange and a culture of evidence-informed policymaking, EGU26 will offer free registrations to European policymakers and those working in government institutions.

The Peer Review Report for Kosovo is released today, 21 April 2026. It marks the outcome of more than six months of work in collaboration between the Kosovo civil protection authority Emergency Management Agency (EMA), the peer experts, and the Commission.
